Good write-up. Someday I'll stop being lazy enough to put in the white backlighting.

wow, i have this on my list of things to do, now I have no excuse!

are there hot spots with those bulbs you got? I thought i remember someone getting some bulbs that helped spread the light better. Is it annoying?

I like the colour!....but not the hotspots. The only thing that has stopped me from doing this mod is that fact that I haven't seen one turn out without the hotspots. What happened to the green "P" on your dash?

could you maby draw on the tip of the led with a sharpie or paint the tip so that the hot spots aren't there?? that way the light is not beaming straight out of the led and creating the "hot spots".

jc, when your truck is in drive pull on the shift lever like your going to put it into 2, but dont actually put it in two, and it fools the computer and turns the light off. i did that just so there was no other light. and i think hotspots can be beat, just gotta get the right bulb.

98.t4r, you probably could but its not worth it in my opinion, you get used to the hotspots. i reccommend trying a different bulb, get one of the bulbes that have 180 degree light out put. or something like that.
