Let us know how it goes with Burt Toyota. If they treat you right i'd be happy to do buisness with them. I'm not too happy with the Liberty or Toyota of Colorado Springs dealers.

I dropped off my Runner off at the dealer this morning. They called me back this afternoon and said they will need my truck for most of the week. They said they are replacing the whole differential under warranty and will pay for the rental car. I would have to say I'm pleased.

I don't know the details on what they found. But, I will be able to get pictures of the damage and post them eventually.

I'm a mechanic at Toyota and we see a lot of drain plugs with metal fillings, but definitly not as much as that. The most I ever see is on the first diff fluid change. It's just from breaking in the diffs.

Mike,
I'm curious. If I would have brought this picture into your shop with the bag of shavings. Would you have had the diff replaced under my drive train warranty? Would you have to completely tear it down to decide?
