LACKING POWER.. What do i do??
#21
FYI--injectors go for bout $135 bones a piece. I would just send them out to be serviced. You can do a 24hr turn around and have your truck back together within a long weekend. While you are in there doing "STUFFS", check out the timing belt. When was it replaced?
#22
... The coils were replaced with Toyota OEM parts, the wires and the plugs that go on top of the spark plugs were from AutoZone, and the spark plugs were OEM replacement form AutoZone.. I think they were Bosch.. can't recall for sure.

Timing belt was last replaced at about 105k.. i'm now at 179xxx.. i though i was at 180+.. but i looked today.

lol, so i guess bosch is crap huh? Yeah, i dont really know anything about vehicle motors when it comes to whats good and what sucks. My CRF450 runs like a raped ape, and i do all my own motor work.. but i can't even figure out why my toyota is slow. haha. thank god for you guys.
.. i'll swap those out this weekend too.. any Specific suggestions for what spark plug to run? I live in Las Vegas.

... whats the best way to clean all these parts & throttle body.. some BreakFree, or another type of spray cleaner.. should i go at it with a brush, let things soak in ??? any tricks to the trade?

Definitely clean your MAF sensor.
With your AEM intake on I bet the MAF is all gummed up with oil from the filter.
I'd do a Seafoam session too.
Then new Denso plugs, NGK wires, sending the injectors off for cleaning is a good idea.
A new fuel filter would be good too.

either ngk dual ground or denso and yes these toyota's are very picky when i comes to this stuff you can get spark plug wires from www.sparkplugs.com ive had the ngk's for awhile now work great

It's not that Bosch is crap, it's fine for European cars, but Japanese cars don't like German parts.
Plugs: NGK #BKR5EKB-11 or Denso #K16TR11 (both are OEM)
Wires: NGK #TE66 (if you like blue colored wires) or Denso #671-6182
Don't get anything but these part #'s or you're asking for trouble. Even though some people on here will tell you that single ground Bosch plugs are fine for our 3.4s, in most cases they are not - I have had bad experiences w/ burning up Autozone plugs to the point where all the pocelain turned brown and I lost 1/2 my horsepower after 6 months.

Use MAF cleaner on your MAF and DO NOT touch the wires w/ anything, just spray the cleaner on and let it dry before you re-install.
Use carb cleaner on the TB and the IAC. You'll need a tiny bit of RTV silicone to seal the IAC back to the TB after you clean them.
x2 on the Seafoam - good stuff. Put some in the gas tank and also some directly in 1 of your vacuum lines while the truck is idling.

Yeah, most auto parts stores carry it. It's a fuel system treatment/cleaner that you normally put 1/3 in your gas tank, 1/3 in your crankcase oil, and 1/3 in a vacuum line. It's always worked good for me.

i was about to buy this but held back, i did reasearch and its just a carb cleaner. basically it breaks up all the bad stuff in the fuel system and spits it all out as white smoke when u turn on the engine. youtube it and you will see what it produces. i held back b/c i have 260k miles and i dont know if my runner can handle that big of a toke
the can itself is pretty cheap and the instructions are clear, about $10 bucks for the can, people have tutorials everywhere how to use it over the internet. however DONT use this as a replacement to tune-up your vehicle.

dont blame it on miles im at 290,000 on 36s and its still got plenty of power with 4.10s. i had the same problem mine actually went slower at wid open throttle. i clened my maf sensor and it was like i just put a ne motor in it... dont use carb cleaner. spend the 8 bucks on maf sensor cleaner. PLUS its only 2 screws

wow ok so i guess my ride can take the toke, im looking forward to doing this then. HOWEVER, i just replaced my spark plugs and fuel filter, will this cause the plugs or filter (i dont think the filter will affected but plug yes) get heavy build up while the seafoam is cleaning up? i thought i read somewhere that you should do a spark plug change AFTER you do seafoam. and also, i was going to spray the MAF sensor the same day but at the time i didnt want to spend 10 bucks on the can, i wanted to see if any of my buddies had it laying around. how many sprays should the MAF sensor get? how long of spray? and have u guys noticed a difference? my Bank 1 sensor 1 is also faulty, so my check engine light is on. will this affect my o2 sensors ????
