Kick Down Cable

Just noticed my kick down cable was not hooked up. Had shop do some work to it a while ago. Could this cause problems with transmission not being hooked up for long period of time??

Needs to be hooked up and adjusted correctly for proper downshifting.

Is it even a kickdown cable though? I think the computer handles the kickdowns (hence ECT electronically controlled transmission). I know it controls line pressure, but maybe it does more.
