keyless entry questions

My 96 4Runner has some sort of alarm on it (not factory) and i don't have any of the remotes. Since my wife had her baby it would really be nice to be able to lock the doors without hitting the lock switch on the drivers door. So here's my question.

Can i buy a keyless entry FOB from E-bay and program it to work with my truck? is there any specific one i need.

Thanks!
Steve

I would think the only way this is gonna work is to find out the brand of the alarm in the truck now and get a matching FOB and then program it to the directions of the manufacture. Usually in the owners manual. Mine came with a factory/port installed on so I can just get a FOB from Ebay and hit the little green push button and them the button on the FOB, Bam your done, well thats how mine went when I got a replacement FOB.
