As I mentioned in my first post, I've just layed down for a '03, 5spd, 4x4, Taco w/ the TRD blower. Over the past day or so I've been reading Gadet's site and I'm now wondering what I have gotten myself into. My wife is also going to be a financial barrier when it comes to spending a fist full of money on more go-fast or "corrective" parts. I plan on doing several things to the truck, but I had not really intended to do much to the engine beyond the blower... I dont even intend on putting headers and exhaust on it if I can help it. I'm going after "quiet and mild".

So what should I expect? Do you guys figure there are additional things I MUST do to get long-term reliablity out of this? If so, what exactly are the basic required add-ons?

I'm not looking to extract every ounce of power, but I do want the smooth, reliable, no-worries engine characteristics I've become accustomed to in my first two trucks.

I dont mind doing some tinkering to smooth out the edges, I just dont want to get buried in it.

 

I have a 3.0 but from what I have read the people that have problems are few and far between. I think it would be safe to say that the majority of peeps bolt on their supercharger and never think of it again except everytime they put their foot down!
