Kayaba Shocks. Like them?
I want to put new shocks in my 97 T100 4x4 as I am up to 125k miles and I figure they are a bit soft. Kayabas were suggested to me to be less expensive and as good or better than OEM. Anyone have any experience with them?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have them--they are just fine for the price. When I was looking I was told they were the Japanese equivalant to Bilstien, but I got them for about $15.00 less per shock. No problems with them at all.

Kinda like Toyoda = Japan , Toyota = everywhere else (yes, they do have Toyota also in Japan)

Does anyone know if the KYB or Tokicos ride as stiff as the Bilsteins? I am looking for a better ride/handling combination than the soft and squishy stock shocks, but I've heard that the Bilsteins and heavy-duty truck stiff.
Any experiences?

I have them on my 91 runner and Love them..They are a bit less all around than Bils--A bit less harsh riding, a bit less expensive, ($50.00++ less a set), A bit less tight on rebound and weight transfer etc. etc. etc. I think they are awesome for the money. Got mine at the Tire Rack. Around $120.00 for a set of four.
I used to live in NYC and the Car Service Owner/Driver guys (The Lincoln Town cars that are a step up from cabs) swore by them. Some of those dudes put 600,000 city miles on their cars. One driver told me, "You can wear out a KYB shock, but you'll never break one."
