Exclamation Jack size???

Had to pull a front tire today. I got the tire off relatively easily but when I went to put it back on the suspension had expanded and I couldn't get the tire back on with out another jack because the toyota jack was maxed out. Everything on the truck is stock except for the HD billies I put on a few moths ago. When I pulled the other side I put a 4 inch block under the jack and had no problem. Anyway just a heads up, if I hadn't had access to another jack I would have been sol.

where did you use as the jacking point? is it possible the jack sunk into the ground? ive used the factory bottle jack under the rear axle and under the front crossmember and havent had any problems. if it is the only jack you have for now, make sure you have that thick block of wood and you should be fine until you can get a high lift.

I used the jacking point indicated in the manual and on the side of the bottle jack and the jack was initially on a piece of 3/4 inch plywood on frozen ground so it didn't sink. All I can figure is that the Bilstien shocks that I put on allow more droop than normal.

stock jacks suck... they really were never designed to to easily lift a stock vehicle... i doubt the shocks had any effect on it...

I also ran into this problem, but luckily I was at home. I now carry a 4" block with me in the rig.
