It's been a while. Made some mods (pics)

Hey all,

It's been a while since I've posted. I've been busy moving but not too busy to make a few upgrades to the 'runner.

Put on some All-Pro sliderz. I had them welded to the frame with the gussets and they are quite strong. I haven't done the Hi-lift test yet though. Pics don't show them too well but I'm quite happy with them and they look great. Spray painted them black and plan on adding some grip tape soon for foot traction.

I also bought some new tires. After much deliberation I decided to go with the 32 x 11.5 BFG Mud Terrains. I decided that I really didn't need the hassle of possible re-gearing, poor gas mileage and rubbing that may accompany the 33s. I may jump off that bridge somewhere down the line though.

Also added another pair of Hellas up top. I love the lights from a performance/price perspective but I really dislike the covers for them. Too showey I think. I wish they had a grill of some sort like the PIAA 520s. Or maybe I'll take Corey's line and put the clear covers on 'em.

Still more mods to come! ( of course ) Next I'll install the remaining 1.5" lift to accompany the Downey HD springs in the back and I'll put some 25 mm SAWs in up front. Oddly, I was getting rubbing with the 32s and had to temporarily remove my front mud flaps. Also to come will be an ARB front bumper, winch and then a rear bumper. Probably custom.

I'll keep you guys posted and thanks for letting me share!

Yeah, looks like someone has been spending alot of money as of late. Very cool. I wish I could, but don't have the money. I was thinking last night though, if I were to put lights on a roof rack, like that, where do you run the wires to. I mean do you just drill a hole in the roof or what do you do. I was just pondering last night. Thanks. :fireman:

lights

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The lighting wire just gets stuffed down the front door window seem into the hood area. It hides quite well there.

The tires so far have been great. I notice a hum now when I drive but there's really no discernible loss of power. It probably helps that I have 4.56 stock gearing.

I really like the looks of the sliderz. It's one of those great mods that looks good and protects.

Take care,

Warren

Ryan, I shot these vids a few months ago on how I ran my wiring for the two lamps on my roof.

lift remaining

The rest of the lift is the 1 1/2 inch coil spacer that Downey sells. It can accompany their HD coil springs for a total of 3" rear lift. It also comes with the necessary hardware to extend the bump-stops and drop the Panhard rod lower to keep the angle correct.

Only problem is that the spacers are light RED in colour! Anyone know how to paint polyurethane?
