It's been fun...
Well, I'm trading in. Im getting a 96 Silverado with the 350. I'm doing some landscaping and need a truck. It only has 69K and comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty from our local Toyota of Bristol. Fire Engine red, the cleanest truck I've ever been in. Thanks for being wiht me on my 4Runner advaenture!

Good luck with the GM. I went to a domestic after owning a 4Runner and sold it within 6 months. I would personally get a Tundra V8 for the size/power you need. May be a little bit more expensive, but then again, your 4Runner was probably more expensive than the GM counterpart (Jimmy/Blazer). You pay a bit more up front for a Toyota, but they make up for it with better reliability and resale value.
BTW, I guarantee that you will not see the same MPG as the V8 Tundra in the 350. You will be down in the 15-16's, at most.

Hey good luck with the new truck. You don't have to leave though! I was on these forums long before I got a Toyota, theres no shame in that. We understand you'll probabilly find some Silverado forum to replace yotatech but don't forget to stop in and say hi once in awhile.
p.s. This is looking like one of the "Good-bye" threads that wont end up in the Drama Lama lounge
good job everyone!

UPDATE: The Dealership said their asking price was firm? What the hell? The truck was worth $9,800 retail and they want my truck ($6500 trade) and $5400 bucks. I pretty much told em where to stick it. My dad is a banker, maybe I'll get a loan to regear to 4.88's for towing power. You can't put a price on reliability. Sorry for the false alarm.

You guys are kinda acting like you are surprised by dealer offers and prices. They offered a bit less than what a '98 might go for on here but they do have to make money and mods don't mean anything when they are buying it but they will pump that up when they sell them.
Not that I want to see you leave the Toyota world but why not sell it privatly and put that down on the Chevy if the Chevy will make your work easier. The Chevy does have only 69k on it so I doubt you'd see too many in the $7k range with that low of miles.

A guy called me today and is coming to look at my 4Runner on friday. I might keep it and regear to 456's. Cant decide. More power for the same gas mileage would be nice. Is 4.56's that big of an improvement?
