Interesting possible swap

For all of you with blown or nearly blow 3vzs check this out.

An lc engine for cheap, not sure how much work would be involved in a swap, but for the price of the engine it may be worth looking into. Just thought I'd share this find.

I don't think the LC80 was available with anything but an auto. IIRC, the engine is BIG and the tranny is BIG - requiring tunnel work to fit our 4Runners.

Still for a 150 for an engine, some fab work would break the bank.Don't kill the dream cebby!

Unfortunately, that engine will NEVER fit in a 4Runner. And for the power it puts out, you're better off w/ a slightly modded 3.4.

Would you just put your energy into the 1UZFE swap?

It has been done and doesn't appear to be too expensive, or too difficult. There are a few great threads going over on Lextreme on the subject. Even sourcing for custom bellhousings and adapters to mate a manual to it.

I don't want to be the first on YT to do it.

I will be doing the 1uz swap. I think selling my 3vz will just about cover it, but I don't have the money to front initially right now. I think I'm going to switch to an auto when I do it too, so that adds a little extra cost and then I have to swap out parts between thats and the sc400s auto. Extra work.

LS400's are more plentiful and likely cheaper...
