Doesn't matter when for me. I placed my order but I'll wait for the rest of the group if that helps.

I really like the idea of the hardmount extremeair. I see other people going for that one as well.

I haven't been able to find a writeup of where people have been putting that under the hood of a 3rd gen 4R? Sure doesn't look like it'd fit on the passenger bumper like I've seen a few of the viar's (sp?)

Anyone wanna cost me a quick $300 plus by pointing out how easy and clean it is?

Looked up the specs:

ExtremeAire: 14" long x 6" wide x 10" high, 3/4 hp, 150 psi maximum, 4cfm

ExtremeAire Jr.: 10.5" long x 4" wide x 6.5" high, 1/4 hp, 150 psi maximum, 1.5cfm

Mike-
I'd like in on this. I have the funds ready. I just want a confirmation that this will fit under the hood of a thrid generation. Also that there will be no compatability issues when I get an ARB air locker.

thanks,

Mike,

I'm in the same boat as sdastg1... If someone can confirm that it can be mounted in a 3rd gen, I'm in. (Don't even care about the ARB)

Also thanks!

Here's a picture of an extremeaire mounted under the hood of a 3rd gen 4Runner.

I have two questions. What happens to that thing when it gets water or mud in it?

also putting it in that location, will it work with a supercharger? Like is there enough room for both?

that install looks good, this will run lockers no problem, check out the manifolds made by slee, or,FRORF they'll help you plumb this thing out for tools, lockers, tires etc...cheap. i am putting mine in a tacoma and dont know wjere its going yet, may end up in my tool box in the bed, also this is suppose to be a completely sealed unit, check out the thread higher up for their web site, and also a short write up is higher as well, cant wait to get mine

If you look closely at the compressor picture you can see the supercharger. The compressor is a sealed unit except for the intake which could be extended just like a differential breather. The bracket I made is a two piece system. One piece holds the compressor, that bracket is bolted to my battery bracket which is bolted to the vehicle. Here are some pics of the battery bracket.

Here you can see the bracket is bolted to the body with two bolts under the battery and another bolt which you can't see is under the red box (h.i.d. igniter) in the upper right hand corner of the picture. You can also see the bolt and nut that is used to attach the compressor bracket to the battery bracket.

Here is a piece of copper that I used so the stock battery cable works with the yellow top.

That is a nice bracket. Would you happen to have that traced out so that others may copy what you have done, like me??

Gadget, I don't have it traced out but I might be able to send both brackets to you in a couple of weeks if you want to copy them. I need to warranty my battery so the bracket will be out of the vehicle and I won't be wheeling for a while anyways. One thing that I have noticed on other model years is the absence of the two factory tack welded nuts where the two bolts are in battery5.jpg so that may be a problem for some people but a work around would be fairly easy.

On another issue I havn't received a response from URDUSA probally due to the holidays but do you know if the TC skid plate is compatible with the MC09? With the MC09 the stock chain driven transfer case hangs below the stock crossmember and I'm not sure if the skid will clear. Also do you know if the skid works with Steve S. style front shackle hangers?
