88 4x4..

My rig is an 88 4x4. I’ve wheeled on everything from gravel roads to trails where I thought for sure I was going to roll it back down! I’ve broke, 1 CV , 1 front shock, 2 stock skid plates “ time for a Bud Built” ripped a few side walls out of tires, ruined a stock rear bumper going down through a wash out, worn ball joints out to the point that I was amazed they were still holding together, exhaust systems, driving lights "I actually cracked one of my Hellas last week" I’m on my 3rd stock antenna, 1 rear window panel and my rear diff sounds TERRIBLE. That’s about all I can think of besides scrapes and dings on the body, oh and my front lower valance panel under my bumper has been pulled back out a few times!

1) Toyota/Tacoma/2001/94,200
2) Easy, Moderate, Difficult
3) Passenger rear fender flare due to rubbing during articulation. CB antenna mount due to excessive rocking motion from crossing rock garden. Crushed exhaust opening from departure angle on large rock. MAF sensor from excessive dirt passing air filter. All four mud flaps due to rubbing during articulation. Pinstriped paint job due to brush along side of trails.

Nothing major really.

2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5. 39,0000 miles. Trails around hear have about 2' diameter rocks. I have'nt broke anything but my body damage from tight areas (trees) are extensive. Lower A arms are raked to Toledo and so is my stock front skid plate and my stock rims have grind marks as well as my front stock bumper is toast sans lower plastic valence. Along with my stock antenna listening to the AM in the hollers.

1. 1995 4-Runner
2. 9/10 in Colorado, 4.5/5 in Utah, and 4.5/5 in Arizona, Mud in Wisconsin
3. Busted:
-CV's
-Idler Arms
-Pitman Arm
-Tie Rods
-Rear Driveshaft

The concept of "difficult" should be normed for this discussion. One locker and 31's does not run "difficult" trails.

Heavy moderate, maybe light difficult
Dad munched an idler arm.
I think something is wrong with the front end now, funny noise when hitting some bumps, I think the front shock is bad, not sure yet.
On the old trucks: Exploder: Several flats, tons of pinstripe, launched 30 feet over a culvert, set on its side and spun around, both bumpers bent from approach depart angles. Cruiser: munched a corner, and set it on it's side (deep snow, very little damage woohoo). 89 p/u: Trashed skid plate, pinstripe, ruined idler arm, almost lost a wheel once from loose lug nuts.
Notes: All the toyotas have seemed to hold up much better off road, but I really tried to destroy the Exploder and put it through hell. All vehicles have been stuck a few times, and been places that resulted in positive failure ie: could not continue on trails or had to be pulled thru.
