Angry I'm MAD!!

Well, after work today i went to 4wheelparts to get my rear springs, no problem, got home and got one side on and discovered that the guys at 4 wheel parts are idiots, i think the pics will explain my situation, the springs are supposedly for a "79-88" toy pickup, so i have a question, are 4 runner springs longer than pickups, or did 4 wheelparts screw up?

The 4Runner should use the same springs as a pickup. Did you try setting the truck down on its tires to see how the shackle angle changes? I've never bought new springs, but I've heard people talk about how after they've driven several miles and the springs settle then they're ok. BTW, what brand springs?

they are pro comp 4" springs, the stock Toyota rears are about 46.5" long when slightly arched, probably 47" when flat, the pro comp springs are about 42" static, if i were to put the truck down the shackle would flip up forward, and even if i could get the shackle to go the other way, when i articulate, the shackle would flip forward anyway, the only way i see this working is if i get a longer shackle, then they would work, but i would have a terrible shackle angle

If they're anything like the POS NWOR springs I had, they will settle in. When I installed my NWOR springs, the 3" springs netted me 9" of lift and looked too short. After driving around a bit, they settled in to the 3½" as advertised (for a while at least) and the length was closer to correct. If you have any reservations though, try to return them to 4WP and get something else.

well, i have an update, i went to 4WP today and exchanged them for a pair of skyjacker soft ride 4", plus a $50 difference, they should be here Wednesday, they must have been built wrong, because the tech there never had a problem with them, word of caution, pro comp stuff is cheap for a reason :pat:
