Ignition cutting out - 3RZ 2.7L

Hi everyone.

Symptom: engine seems to completely die for less than a second at a time (ignition cutting out?), like a severe stutter, causes quite a lurch/jolt at speed

Frequency: seems to depend on heat -- on short drives and some cooler short trips, it won't even happen at all, on long road trips, once the engine has been going a while it will cut out once every few minutes

Could just be anecdotal, but it seems like moderating the throttle helps prevent the problem somewhat. Might be unrelated, or this could be a key to the solution!

I posted about this in the past, and turns out the truck was in big need of new plugs, which made the problem appear to go away, but actually, it just lessened the problem.

I cleaned the MAF sensor, put in new plugs and wires.

It was suggested to me by a friend that the camshaft position sensor or crankshaft position sensor could be culprits, but I'm looking for other ideas before I start replacing parts that don't need replacing.

I don't think any error codes are being thrown, but I have a cheapo code reader, I can check again.

Ideas GREATLY appreciated!
