IFS travel measurements and pics

setup tested:

- SAW coilovers
- ATS upper control arms
- Revtek 3/8" topout spacer
- swaybar disconnected

on level ground i sit at 15" from top of wheel to bottom of LTD fender, i also have a 1" body lift.

at this pic, all the weight is at the rear of the vehicle, so i feel another 0.5" - 1.0" of uptravel ("stuff") could be accomplished if more weight was added to the front. however, when i went through the obstacle nose first, i was too nervous to get out of my vehicle and measure the travel since my drivers side rear tire was 2' off the ground

the drivers side is stuffed the bumpstop and the passenger side extends just enough so that the balljoint barely contacts the spring (as circled in the pics).

the passenger side front tire is off the ground

now for the measurements:

Drivers side: 9" (top of wheel to bottom of fender)
Passenger side: 18.5" ( " " )

(i also have measurements from center of hub, but i feel those are more arbitrary to be standardized)

so thats 9.5" of travel with all the weight on the back tires

just thought i'd share my recent findings with the public. the revtek spacer added additional downtravel to the suspension, but i also feel that it might have limited the compression of it as well. i think i remember my previous testing (without the revtek spacer) to be in the 8" range on the compressed side.

i am thinking that the Revtek spacer increased the downtravel just as much as it decreased the compression.

is this good or bad, i guess it depends on the situation.

My pics are here: http://www.toyota-4runners.com/windrock12-27-03.html and my measurements were 8.5"-9" of travel.
