identify two parts and their purpose please (under chasis)

whats the piece mounted to the transfer case? rubber sides. whats it for?



whats the cylinder attached to the exhaust? no wires coming from it. its purpose?

I believe they are both counter-weights to reduce vibrations.

That's exactly what they are. Reduction of vibrations = less road noise.
