Anybody notice that those big flares make that white hilux look a lot like an old Jeep J10/20 full size pick-up from the 60s/70s? About all thats missing is the "eyebrow" at the front of the cab.

That's awsome! I guess they imported that Tacoma from the US. Wonder why considering the Hilux is easily available I assume? If you find anymore pics of it I sure would like to see them.

RE: 38s w/ 5:29s, I ran 38 swampers for a while. Hated the tires (3rd set of swamps I've played with - hated them all, will probably never consider another set,) but the power with 5:29s was fine, almost comparable to stock. (37s is probably exactly comparable to stock.)
that was 37's with 5.29's and a V6 correct?

Diffs

Most Hilux trucks here are running 5.29 or 5.71 when using 38", those are both 2.4 EFI and 2.4 Diesel Turbo There are also some V6 models here, usually Extra Cab.

The steering is doing well on those truck, but when running bigger tires it's to be expected to have shorter lifespan of many parts in steering and drivetrain.

Some choose 5.71 over 5.29 because of it's longer lifespan. But the 5.29 is the closest to original.
