is the iat and the ect temp sensor mod good together

Is there any way you can log your data? On mine, I logged it onto my handheld reader, and then exported it to Excel on my computer. I did this a few years ago on my '97, doing several cruises on the interstate. Changing the ECT value never influenced timing for me.

I will look and see if I can log it and do it that way ,that would be best . Im not saying yours did or should have but unless it is inaccurate then it def is man. what potentiometer did you put on yours I think mine is a 100k . It is very sensitive a 32nd of a turn will make 50° difference! Maybe we are doing something diff. I'll get some good info on it in a couple of hrs

I know its rough lol but its hard to do everything while trying to keep it still . I know it advances while cruizing and at wot I'll do another video and I'll have a friend rec it I really want you to see what is happening . You may think I'm full of it but I'll make sure on the next video you can see but sry it was a rough vid lol and I'll only leave the back window open so u can hear better
My 4Runner definitely did not behave like your Tacoma is doing. However, I noticed that your truck went into Open Loop whenever you went to -40F, and then back into Closed Loop when you put it back to stock.

It does go into open at about 0° I don't know why but when it goes into open loop is when the the noise starts ping or valve clatter or whatever . And that's the reason why I originally asked if the two mods were good together? But I figured that our rigs wasn't acting the same cause you kept saying urs did nothing when I knew mine did

But I'm so curious as to what the diff is between the two cause my truck most def runs better when I ( turn the knob) lol I'd love to know other peoples results of this mod to know if my computer is the crazy one or yours Lmao

You say that it goes into Open Loop at 0°. What happens if you keep it just above 0°, keeping it in Closed Loop? Does anything change? Any chance you can take a video of that?

I can tomorrow and your exactly right it goes by the past 4 cold starts . I'm not sure how much it adv in closed loop just above open, I think it is like 4° at a cruise or so but we will see .it runs best at bout 30° in closed I know for sure because it starts missing at idle turned in the negatives and you can hear the slight miss at wot in a pull if the octane Is high. Enough to keep the noise down.

This morning on my way to work I was messing with it and it adv around 4° (34) at cruise and about the same at wot and it def pulls a lot better at about 30° . I think because in open it is to much fuel cause you can feel it missing so I guess it will be OK to run as long as I keep it in closed loop???? But I thank you for your info on my rig and would love to hear from other people who has done this . But I have one more question for you , say you was in 2nd gear and rolling of a hill down from about 4 grand and when the rpm got to about 1500 you layed your foot on the gas very light and when it went to convert from getting turned to pulling the complete engine shuts down for a split second and then picks right back up n runs fine

I have cleaned tb, mas, idle control valve , it don't do it every time but the whole truck knows it. Its just long enough for the slack in the drive train to go both ways . Only code I have it no rear converter and bad heater in front sensor ....
