Limiteds were never available with a manual trans. You could order leather as an option on an SR5, so that is likely what you saw.
limited? thats what I dont think exists

They are having issues with tires cracking too. Seems to be different brands too.

I don't think there were manuals offered on any after 2000. I had a '99 5-sp.

2000 was the last year of the 5-speed manual AND the e-locker.

I don't mean any offense to automatic owners, but I drove a few 3rd gen autos and they felt slightly more sluggish than my 3.0 with a 5-speed. I had decided to keep my old truck until I came across this 3rd gen with the manual. I had no plans to buy a vehicle that day but was so impressed with how it drove (compared to the autos) that I bought it on the spot. Even my girlfriend noticed a huge difference and she was just a passenger.

Cliff notes version: I love it!

Check the sig.

Let the questions fly if you have any. Mine has every option found on the limited except the Auto. The chick that bought it wanted it that way. That's cool with me.

Yeah unfortunatly as I read up that seems to be the case. Oh well I do like having 4wd, and since im getting marrie soon It might be smart to have something that I can use for the family.

Ive driven 3rd gens with the auto and they are maybe 30% quicker than my 3.0 auto (I refuse to wheel with a manual) I was kinda disapointed. So im going to have to look at the manuals, plus I love driving manuals on the road.

It was excellent. Once every two months or so it would pop out of first gear. Other than that it was great - actually *is* great = my son has it now. I traded up (in size anyway) to an FZJ80, but it was too big. Then I got a deal on a '90 that needs engine work. I don't know if I'm going to build it or my girlfriend's 40 yet.

You can have over 300 HP with the 3.4. You can have 4WD and an auto as well. That's what I have. I have a taco but HP is HP. My buddy Noli's (Noliwan) 2000 limited auto 4runner is doing about 310 HP at the crank now as well. There is nothing slow about his truck!

Wow im not looking to have a drag racer, or anything but that would be fun, what mods do you think are the best bang for the buck. Also how reliable has your truck been.

Probably a worn bushing at the base of the shifter. I haven't heard of this being a problem. Only a few isolated cases.

Well, you did say you were looking into a 300HP Xrunner before you found out there was no forced induction available. Even though I have taken it to the drags a couple of times, my truck is not a "drag racer". It is my daily driver and is not radical at all. The truck is totally dependable and runs a lot smoother than it did stock. I also picked up 4 MPG with the mods.

The best bang for the buck is definately the supercharger.
