I need 4 tires 4 4Runner 4 cylinder no 4 wheel 4 choices??
OK, I'm still looking for tires for my 2000 4Runner,4 banger, 2 wheel drive ,automatic.
Here are my choices of good deals on new or almost new tires.
Michelin X 225-75-15.
Michelin LTX-M/S P-235-75-15.......Are the M/S tires much different than regular street tires?
Firestone Destination LE P-235-75-15.....I heard good things about these!
Uniroyal Laredo 31-10.5-15....What's the difference in this size opposed to the 235-75's?
Thanks in advance,
beard

31s are about 2" taller than a 235/75/15
i have put the destination les on 2 of our vehicles, 235s on our explorer and 31s on the durango.... they are awesome street tires

I have 4 almost brand new Pirelli 235/75/15 if you want them? Jusy pay $150 + whatever UPS charges for shipping from 91320 to your zip code. Let me know if you're interested.
BTW - These same tires sell for $69 brand new at TireRack.com. For only $150 + shipping, that's $130 saved for tires with maybe 2k miles on them. Like I said, let me know if you're interested.

Michelin X is a passenger car tire. There is nothing wrong with putting them on other than they are not truck tires.
LTX M/S - Very similar tread design to the radial X, but these have raised white letters that make them truck tires. The M/S is the mud and snow rating. 90% of tires sold are mud and snow rated.
Firestones- I personally am not a big fan of firestones. The only way that I would buy them were if they were real cheap and I didn't drive much or was planning on selling it soon.
Uniroyal Laredo- size has already been explained. The Uniroyals are decent. They are inexpensive, and there are reasons for that.
My opinion, if you like a quality ride and want a tire that is going to last a long time and give you a smooth comfortable ride their whole life, go with the michelins.

I have the same truck as you. I would go with the Pirelli's.
When I bought my 4runner it had two good tires, Runway Endros (I think its a Pirelli Jones brand)on the front. I replaced the rears with Dominators from Americas Tire store and they were 1/2 an inch narrower. I switched them to the front so it looks like a muscle runner now.
You might want to take a tape measure to the store to check which tires give you the most tread. My 225/75/15s vary from 6 to 6.5 inches of tread.

Thanks to all for the expert advise. I went with Michelin LTX thanks to Ebay. Only 400 miles on them for $203........+ $40 to ship and $40 to mount and balance. Thanks Erik for the deal on the Pirelli's as I may have bought them but I just read your post tonight.
