Dont base it off of who is closer. Base it off of which dealer will give you the best service. If the original dealer was trying to jack you around then more than likely the service department will be the same way. The bottom line is sales and the service department all have the same upper managment. Sometimes a little extra drive might be worth it.

I typically hate car dealers too, but somehow I really lucked out on my last purchase.

I bought a 2000 Accord EX in exc condition, and traded in my 2000 Focus. [I really hated that focus]

The NADA Retail value on the Accord was about $12800. Their price on the car was $9000 - Really cheap already. Then they gave me $5000 for the Focus (Nada Trade Value), and took $500 off the price of the Honda. So I got the Honda for $2000 below the NADA trade value. I've had it for 2 months now, and still no problems to be seen.

So, I wont complain about that dealer, but I went to Budget one time, and will NEVER go there again. I went once, and the salesman started stalking me, showing up at my house with cars and stuff. :wtf: Crazy frikin salesman.

That's just for the tags EVERY YEAR! Sales taxes are anywhere from 3-4.5% at the time you purchase the car. That's in addition to the $about $35 title app fee.
That's because you are paying those high rates because of WHERE you live in Alabama. There is a MAJOR difference here in tag prices between Tuscaloosa CITY and Tuscaloosa COUNTY, so I'll bet that is why yours are so high, CITY taxes.
