I got scooped

If they don't have to blend the paint from the new hood to match the paint on the old fenders (which is fading always) then it might be a little cheaper to paint.
My rig didn't require any bleding so I got away with about $800, but that was three years ago.
The carbon hood is cool, but seems to me to fit better on a rocket (e.g. Evo) than a truck. Just my 2Cents

It really does look good, but in my humble opinion, not $1000 good. If it were functional I could better understand it. Trucks beg for functional mods far more than they beg for asthetic mods, afterall, they are trucks and should be used as such!

scooped also
I finally put on my Hannemann fiberglass hood after having it sit in my garage for months and months. I need to get it painted though b/c it looks like all the prerunners around here with a white hood that doesn't match the paint.
I'll post pics when i get em
About functional: The fiberglass hood has the scoop part cut out. In that way i guess it does move some air through there. Don't tell me about drag/wind resistance. This is on my 95 (3.slow). I could probably find one of those intakes off of a car that has a flat/wide initial intake that tapers down into a tube. Maybe i'll go to the yards after finals week.
Edit: this is on the one in my avatar

You can do the hood for around $600 if you search around and you can get the shell here http://www.partstrain.com/products/p...NNER&year=2000 then get the scoop parts from Toyota and get it painted or try ebay and if you luck out you'll find one the same color as your Runner but they are a pricey piece of factory "rice" no matter which route you take.
Alos Partstrain is having a one day sale and the hood is $110 plus shipping.
