I cant even put a battery in a car without something going wrong

Just like the title says. I was putting in the new bat. in the yota, I connected the neg, then the positive. and then my friend drove up and tried to run me over, we were talking and then all of a sudden he shouts "YOUR TRUCK IS SMOKING!" Some wire ont he drivers side, right above the wheel, got too hot and now its toast

No, my toes were numb and I was tired of the cold wind. I had been outside for a good portion of the morning/early noon

Ok, so I fixed it. It turns out one of the dumbass's who owned the truck before me, had replaced the battery cables, but they used the red cable for the neg and the black one for the pos :retard:
