Huge on 49's!!

Why does this happen every time? Why does the crawler team put down the street queens? Because it doesnt fit into their box? I think that, that PARTICULAR truck is a little narrow for that size tire(I am switching to full-widths and 49's) but overall it is pretty much the norm down here. Down here we dont have the terrain to build crawlers so we build something that will work in mud/sand, and eventually the trend moved onto the street. You could call them street queens yes because they spend most of their time as a DD, but the people that build it right can use them offroad as well. Have any of you realized that every toyota does not have to have 90 degrees of articulation and perform on the rocks? Sheesh yeah to each his own, but because I dont like rock crawling doesnt mean I dog every crawlers dream of building an awesome rig. You complain about ruining a toyota by doing that, but you guys do far worse by chopping, tubing, and destroying your trucks in the pursuit of a perfect ride. Come on guys how about a little support for what we do!

Well that setup isnt my cup of tea just because of how unpractical it is, but who knows, he could also own 3 off roading trucks as well and just got bored with money??? I say not bash the guy until you see if that really is his main whip of if that is his show car or something. Just my thoughts....

Reason we rag on street queens here is because they arent built right. Fine you can build it, but damn doit right, making a huge subframe or using 400 inch leaf springs isnt the way to do it.
Also there is no point in putting anything over 33" on a toyota with a 4 cylinder or a V6, you just aint got enough power.

well I guess I cant argue with that CJM. And yeah I dont see much point in chrome suspensions, I mean its gonna get covered in mud anyways right? Around here there are many people that never leave asphalt, but you can still recognize the guy that comes back from actually wheeling their rig. They get more props.

I bet with some gears and power, that thing would be awsome in the mud.
I feel sorry for those brakes though! I have 40"s on my chevy and i thought that was big! i could not imagine using it for a daily driver, especially with gas prices!

haha...
There is just no use for a truck that big except a music video. Or on a showroom with mirrors under it..

gotta disagree with you on that one. there are plenty of reasons to put bigger than 33" tires on a yota (not saying 44" is the best idea), but i know plenty of people with the 22r, 22re, 2.7, 3.0 and the 3.4 with 35"-38" tires and they are fine on power and all get decent, ~17mpg, gas milage. gearing has a lot to do with it

I gotta disagree with most posts here. I see that most of you that feel this truck just "sits" there, or it is for "show" ,would be quite surprised to find out what most of the trucks in Florida are really like. That truck is most likely just another mud truck down there. Florida has a different style of "wheeling" all it's own unlike the rest of the country. Remember, the whole state is flat, and there is water...literally almost everywhere, especially in central FL. Sorry guys, but 33's and 35's aren't going to take you anywhere in the Florida swamps. Just to the repair shop when your engine is flooded after being over your front bumper in water. I would be willing to bet that this guys truck gets wheeled because of where he's located, and the type of wheeling that goes on there in FL.

When I see things such as these it makes me sad......
