Hub type question

Does anyone know how I could check to see if I have automatic hubs or ADD? My wheel center caps in the front only have a Toyota logo like the rear.
Oh also, the 4wd light that comes on in the guage cluster area, does that light up when 4wd has actually engaged or diengeged rather then by the pull of lever to put it in 4wd?
thanks, just curious

You have ADD.
The auto hubs were only on the very early 80's rigs.

They are a joke, as when you back up on a trail, they become unlocked.

Here is some good reading.

The light might take a few seconds to come on, or when you first start to drive after engaging 4WD.

The light is only on when the 4WD is actually engaged. Next time you take it out drive slowly and you will hear a click at the same time the light goes out. This is your 4WD disengaging.

Cool, was just curious how the light was triggered, and thanks for the link.
