It comes on when you brake.

^ incase you have all-clear tail lights then a cop might let them "slide".

Im still waiting to get my custom bumper but when i do, i'll have my new clear tail lights with a hitch light for added safety and the "cop factor".

yea, i knew that but i dont care. Colorado is one state where cops dont trip on it. *knock on wood* (thats why a hitch light would be a good idea with clear tail lights)
A guy that lives around the corner has had his all-clears on a Chevy silverado w/out any problems for a couple years.
The same goes for window tint. MANY CO drivers have "illegal" tint but its pretty rare to get a ticket for it. One guy i work with has been going 10 years now with very DARK illegal tint on all windows...still no ticket.

I saw an Englewood cop making a guy peel his tint off his Civic door windows right on the side of the road. It was on Oxford near Santa Fe. I was warned with my FJ40 that I needed fender flares to cover the tread on my tires by a Jeffo sheriff. They do sometimes notice.

My mom has one on her Silverado with the chevy symbol that lights up.

Jason, make one with a Toyota emblem in it and I might buy it!

I have the receiver hitch light...picked it up at Harbor Freight for $4.99. I like it...anything to keep them from running into the back of my 4Runner.

Ive seen them before, but I fail to see the point of it. Its not as if it makes it more visible that you are braking (like a 3rd brake light on a truck or SUV).
They really arent all that bright either. Ive seen ones with the Ford emblem and the Chevy bowtie and they really arent all that visible.

Those hitch lights are a bit excessive IMO since you already have enough brake lights on the rear and one that low is the least visible;I'd rather have just a nice cover or one of those hitch inserts that turns into a step.

I've seen them be extremely bright, annoyingly bright at night.

My opinion is they are kinda tacky. I seem them alot of older peoples cars. I guess if it helps people see you, even a little bit better then it might be worth it.

So to answer the question, I dont have one. I think I might have seen them at wal-mart though.

I have one that i made from parts from Princess auto for about 7 bucks all in. Can't have too much in the way of brake lights in this area in my opinion. I was atually thinking about wiring it with a switch to turn on as a reminder to others not to tailgate or dim the high beams.
