How to remove power mirror and Limited cladding?
I'm getting a dent fixed and both drivers doors painted with some left over insurance money, but I want it to be as cheap as possible so I'm going to take off my door skins, mirrors, cladding, and maybe even door handles so I don't to pay the body shop rate for them do do it. Not worried about the door skin, but I'm not sure about the cladding or mirror. I'm excited at the money I'll save by doing this, and the faces on the body shop guys who see me pull up ready for blasting and bondo! (these are the same guys who saw me put my TJM on in a parking space in 20 minutes outside the body shop). Thanks in advance.

98,
removing the power mirror is a piece of cake. remove the tweeter sail panel w/ a screwdriver (it pops right out). you will see a harness that plugs nad powers the mirror. pull it out. then there are some bolts that you will need to remove. i believe they are 10mm or 8mm bolts.
as for the cladding, no clue. but ask skyrat. i believe he tried it once. but why would you remove the cladding if they are going to paint it the same color as the door?

That mirror sounds easy enough, I forgot about those bolts behind the sail. I've got that greyish/blue or gumetal grey type of limited cladding on white body, so they are indeed different colors. For it to look good I need to have the cladding off so the WHOLE door gets painted. I bet Bamachem would know about this too.... I'm hoping the 50 square feet of sound deadening in the door doesn't come back to haunt me...
