How to Remove '02 Rear Bumper Plastic

Hey everybody, I searched "2002 4Runner Rear Bumper Removal" and came up with a lame 2 threads that had nothing to do with my search so I'm starting this thread.

How do I get that top plastic piece off of my rear bumper on my '02 4Runner? It is starting to turn off black and I want to hit it with some paint today.

Thanks.

Its pretty straight-forward. Go under the truck and look by where the trim piece would be. You will see little plastic double "prongs" poking through which are clipping onto the metal of the bumper. Squeeze them together and push up. It helps to start from one side and move to the other.

Good idea! I need to do the same...mine is all faded as well...

IS it better to use paint or maybe some of that back to black stuff?

the back to black does not work... turtle wax tire shine worked awesome on mine... going on 2+ weeks still dark (along with wheels and fender flares)

Personally I would not paint mine
