How many bolts on 3.4L 3rd Gen Skid Plate?
I have read numerous posts that say 7 bolts have to be removed. I have 3 up front, 2 in the rear, and 2 that hold the front piece and rear piece together. I have seen posts that mention 2 more on the side. The 2 holding the two pieces together do not have to be removed, correct?
So then, I count 5 bolts that have to be taken off. Right?

I thought it was 9 total, 7 to be removed.
3 across the front, 2 more deep recessed, 2 holding the plates together (that don't have to come out) and 2 all the way in the back.

Bob,
In your write up you state to remove 6 bolts, but then you list the front 3, then the back 2 bolts, and then the middle bolts. That implies more than 6....
I stick by my answer of 7 to be removed, and two extras holding the two plates together.

Well, when I dropped my skid plate yesterday, there were a total of 7, 5 that needed to be removed, and the other 2 were the ones that held the two plates together. Guess the last Toyota moron that dropped it forgot to put back the other 2 bolts.
Great!
Great!
