I actually got out before the last attempt to get unstuck, and took a leak for just that reason. Problem was, now I couldn't buckle my seat belt anymore!! It was locked up and I was stressed. Me and my truck made it out ok-Thanks to some of the great people I met here on YT!

So 35 is about the max? I've had a couple uncomfortable moments lately where I was at 35 for a bit, and on one of them I had to really gun it to get through, and it was not a really great feeling as a newbie.

The 4th gen standard does 42 degress, or is rated by Toyota at 42 degrees, but as said more lift, down goes angle. Increase track (offset wheels, axle) and it will increase. SO the 3rd and 2nd gen should be able to go close to 40 as they are higher with smaller track. 35 would be a good guess.

Strangely enough I wasn't able to find the official Jeep spec, anybody knows?

How easy does a 4Runner roll compared to a Jeep
Of 141 vehicle models analyzed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 13 had rollover death rates of 1.0 or higher per year for every 10,000 vehicles registered during the 1991-95
period. But 10 of the 13 were light trucks. The list:

Vehicle Rate
Geo Tracker 2x4 1.6
Nissan Pathfinder 1.3
Toyota 4Runner 4x4 1.3
Chevrolet Corvette 1.2
Chevrolet Camaro 1.1
Chevrolet S10 pickup 1.1
Ford F-350 4x4 1.1
Toyota 4x4 pickup 1.1
Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 1.0
Geo Tracker 4x4 1.0
Jeep Wrangler 1.0
Pontiac Grand Prix 1.0
Toyota 4Runner 2x4 1.0

This table doesn't really show the angles, bur rather how the average drivers of those vehicles are. But flipping a Corvette :pat:

SHows you make a very fast relatively cheap car and this is what happens, also the Camaro. You dont see the expensive ones on there, cause the drivers that can afford Porsches, etc are too old to drive fast

It was avilible when they just released the 4Runner. I just double checked it again on the Toyota South Africa site. Known there and in Aus as the Prado or baby Land Cruiser. Note the LandCruiser 100 has 45 degrees.
