How are the 1996 tacoma license plate lights wired?

How are the 1996 tacoma license plate lights wired? I need to replace them with third party lights from auto parts store.
The new lights only have one wire, the stock lights have two wires.
I am assuming the green wire is a ground but cant seem to get them to burn.
Any thoughts, other than I am not an electrical genius?

Red face

Green wire is the supply side

Connect the green wire to your new lights .

You might need to connect the ground to what grounds the lights .
