I have new horns!!!
After a very close near-miss, I decided my stock Japanese flutes weren't going to cut it any longer. So, I picked up a pair of Carrand "Magnum Blaster" horns. They are actually made by Fiamm.
The package says they are rated at 138 dB. I can confirm that with the lack of hearing out of my right ear.
I bought the "low note" (p/n 3-0115) and "hi note" (p/n 3-0114) and had them installed in 15 minutes. They sound REALLY nice. I wish I had sound recording capability, I'd share a clip.
I REALLY like these horns!

They're probably pretty similar to the Freeway Blasters a few of us have installed recently. Glad you like 'em!
I was watching a DVD earlier and finally realized what my ideal horn would be.
For my birthday, my parents got me a 3-DVD set called "Chasing the Dream". Its about the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL team to the Pittsburgh Penguins) and their 2002-2003 season. Great stuff!
Anyway, during some of the game footage they scored a goal and BBBBBBBBBBBWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, the horn goes off.
If I could get a hockey goal horn in my rig, I'd be set!!!

All totalled, they were $28 and they come with everything to mount them including the ground (-) wire. The existing bolts that hold the original plate style horns in place were to big. So I used the smaller radiator bracket bolts. I will take some pictures this week and post them.

You will not regret this mod, it could save your life!
LOL @ "Japanese flutes" - that is the best description of the stock horns I have heard yet.
Some other guys were talking about train horns...along those lines, my dad went to school with a guy that mounted a 747 landing light on his rig. Needless to say people never drove with their brights on after getting blasted by that guy.

How do you close the hood? It looks like the tank and the horns would prevent closure.
