Hitch & Backup lights

I was lucky that my hitch fit perfectly when I picked up my 4Runner. Now the problem...how can I get a drop of about 4-5 inches if another hitch won't fit?

Has anyone replaced their backup bulbs with brighter ones? Where can get them?

Thanks,
Morry

Are you asking how to drop the hitch 4-5"? All you need is a drop bracket that fits in your 2" receiver. It will lower the ball to the level you need it to hook up to your trailer.

The problem lies with the spare tire. It is in the way. Only the factory unit fits.

I bought an aftermarket ball mount to fit the shank I already had -- but it was a bit too snug against the tire for my liking. So, a few minutes with the business end of a reciprocating saw took care of it.

Just cut off any excess. To keep it from rusting, though, put some paint or sealer on the raw metal.
