Cool hill holder saved me $200 at least

i had to get the truck to the mechanic and cause couldn't get the sucker in gear. so what did i do? turn truck off, pop her into 2nd, engage hill holder, and start. w00t. it was only a mile, and i had to do it 3 times. no need for a tow truck.

so my clutch slave cylinder and hose is blown. $130. i thought it was the clutch. whoosh!

the only thing i have used it for is when i warm up my car. is it meant for keeping the left foot free to use the brake when restarting the truck?
