Highway Milage.

Well, I got down to the beach today. A total of 408 miles. I achieved 21.38 MPG with Marathon brand gas. The reason I was so surprised was that I had to go over the mountain to get to Asheville and I was in third gear alot climbing it at roughly 3.5 RPM. Then when I got the chance to cruise at a 6% grade, I shifted to nuetral and dropped to 700 RPM at 75 miles per hour . What kind of highway miles do you guys achieve?

I get 21mpg at about 70-75mph, flatish ground, a/c on. 5-speed with 285's and 3" suspension lift.

On a day of driving around the Olympic peninsula I got ~23 mpg, but then again speeds hardly went over 65 there (I hadn't seen this good milage in while). On the hwy going home I got about 20 mpg while fully loaded down and 75-80 going through Oregon and California. I started to drive at least 300 miles before tanking up again, which I wouldn't if I was driving around town.
I don't see the AC matter much at hwy speeds. I run stock sized Revos.

Just did a 500 mile round trip from Denver to Grand Junction and got about 20mpg. Climbing up the long passes hurt the mileage a bit but going back down helps it out.

Best I have ever gotten was 18.2 and that was with very little around town driving and cruise control doing 65. I need to figure out why this thing is such a gas hog...Stock everything.

Do you guys think that I just need to lubricate the heck out of everything? Zerks? Etc?

I've always gotten good MPG, and I live in the Rockies. 20-22 MPG on the highway.

Also, when you're going downhill, it's better to leave it in gear and not step on the gas than to put it in neutral. When it's in gear, the wheels turning will keep the crank turning. When in neutral, you are using up more gas (as if you're idling.) Hope that makes sense.

The past month or so I've been getting very consistently ~20mpg with combined city and highway. Before replacing my disgusting air filter I was getting just about 18mpg.

I just did a trip from Wisconsin to NY State and back. Averaged 21 to 23 mpg. Mostly Interstate going 70 to 75 with the A/C on. Doing some short trips up and down the Catskills I ended up with 21 mpg. I'm about to clock 100k miles on the odometer.

I got a little over 25 mpg with the cruise control locked at 64 mph on a three hour highway trip.

Got 21.3 mpg 60-65 on my way back from MI to MN 2 weeks ago.
in the past i have gotten:
about 19-20 mpg going 65-75mph all freeway.
about 18-19 mpg going 75-85mph all freeway.
Normally get 17.5-18 mpg 50% highway 50% City

all depends how much i get on it, the supercharger makes it really fun to get on it too

not bad in my book for 250+ hp with a 2.5in lift and almost 32in All terrains.

There are loads of things to do (if you search you will see). However the biggest mpg killer for me is stop and go stuff, tirepressure too low, and use of lead foot.

a combination of city and hiway i get about 21 to 23mpg with my 2.7L with 31inch tires
i cruise 65-80 on interstate and in a hurry i do 85-90
*edit*
both of my front tires have nails so i am always low in the front and i accelerate hard 90 percent of the time
it seems like the easier i drive it the more gas it uses

Tire pressure and air filter are the biggies, plus accelerate like a grandma.
How long has it been since you changed spark plugs and what viscosity oil do you use?
