A while back the shop said the cause for a knocking sound around my wife's front pass. wheel-well was a faulty strut tower brace. He said it wasn't a big deal if we could live with the sound. Well now it's much worse and we want to replace it. Not haven't taken a look, I'm wondering if this is a straight-fwd DIY fix (for a novice wrencher) or definitely a dealership job.

Sounds like something that will need to be welded.
