High Mileage '01 Pricing??
Hey guys,
So it's been about six years since I've owned a 3rd gen and it's very likely that I'm going to be getting back into one shortly. I recently came across an '01 that looks to be fairly clean and maintained but it has 210k miles on it, the price they have listed is $5800. The highest mileage I had on mine was 140k but beyond the normal stuff for these (axle seals, TB/WP, Rad/Trans cooler, starter) is there going to be a lot I'm looking at maintenance wise at this mileage. I'm not afraid to get dirty anymore but I also don't want a money pit. Also, what is your opinion on that price?
Thanks!
EDIT: I guess the link would be good.

At the age of these trucks now, my number one concern would be frame rust. They are not immune to it if they spent their life in the Northeast, and never had the undercarriage washed. I keep a close eye on mine and, to date, only have minor surface rust at weld joints.

I think it may be worth considering if you can purchase it for under $5,000. The truck looks to be in great cosmetic shape, but I'd question the collapsed upper radiator hose.

high mileage prices
We just sold my sisters 98 limited 4x4 with 250k on it for $3,500. It was in excellent shape and well maintained with just normal seat wear etc. Her only issues were normal shocks, brakes, ball joints starter and radiator (caused some overheating issues that were hard to diagnose for a bit). She was very happy with it but ended up buying an 08 for the 3rd row seat.
