HID retrofit completed

heres some pics, i will get some night shots later, the projectors are E46 Bi-xenon out of a late model BMW, the Bi-xenon means that they have an high beam function, i mounted them in some clear housings i got off of ebay, i still need to aim them a little better, but so far i REALLY like them...

Where did you get your Bi-Xenon E46 lights? Also, how easy was it to wire it to the Toyota light control wires?

i got the projectors off of ebay for $100 which is pretty much the going rate for them, i already have an upgraded headlight harness so i didn't need to do anything to it to hook up the ballasts

i need to go find a wall to get some good shots against, i will post some pics when i get them, i just got back from a drive and it was amazing, the width is so much better than halogen, i haven't got the high beam solenoid wired up yet, i hear that the high beams on these are pretty good too

Your lights look great! Did you get chrome paint for the bezels? Do you have pics of when you were building them? Im interested to see some more close up pics of the housing.

Thanks

Looks great. Well done.

It also looks like a lot of work. I just used a HID High/Low beam conversion kit in my truck that was a direct drop in and plug in system.

it wasn't as bad as i thought, before i did this i just had a D2R HID bulb with a casper shield in the stock housing, it wasn't that bad, it had too much glare for my liking, and light output was mediocre, our halogen reflectors were not made for the intense light of an electric arc, period.

i just love the output of these new lights, i can light up the whole width of a 3 lane highway easily with no glare to any other drivers, the high beam is pretty powerful too.

Looks great! how did you retro this into the housing? is it adjustable as far as aiming is concerned?

I am looking into doing mine but time hasn't allow yet.

Any details on the installation process would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nam

ya i will get some pics this weekend, i just used that aluminum "duct tape" to seal up the headlight to projector and clear silicone to seal the headlight cover/lens, it is less messy than silicone and it will come off easier if i need to remove them for some reason

I see you used the E46 projectors...but I don't see that clear crisp blue line right on the cutoff point on one of your night shots?....I originally wanted the E46 projectors but because the solenoid for high beams were positioned differently I went with the E55 projectors which dropped in with a circle cut out on the back of the headlight.
