Anybody else read that some states are banning/planning to ban all HID lighting? If your state doesn't do it there might be a rush of HID off other vehicles onto the market for cheap.

Will take us at least 2 days to figure out which model's HID's fit best in our's!

 

I've never heard of this. I don't see it happening, either.

 

I thought they forced the HID retrofit kits to disappear but not OEM HIDs.

 

i can't imagine them doing that. what happens to the luxuty line vehicles ? nobody's gonna wanna change them.

 

Yeah, I don't know about this happening. States tend to not make things illegal that make big companies big money. ie: tobacco.

I think HID is here to stay. Companies like Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Infinity, and Audi make *way* too much money on HID. I bet the ban won't happen.

I'm not trying to be the third person to shoot you down, it's just hard to believe.

 

Someone gets a bee in thier bonnet and pushes through legislation while we are all asleep at the switch.

I run 110W driving lamps for my commutes into WV on the weekends. They are wired to come on with my brights. This is illegal in WV and VA. Why ? "Because you will blind on coming drivers !" err...no.

They come on with the brights which means as long as I dip my headlamps like everyone else does, I am fine. You will blind other drivers with 60W brights if you never dip them.

So, in short, I am impriving the safety of my night time driving and learned the hard way when a state inspector literally removed my lamps and cut the wires !!!

Makes no sense but does mean it will not happen....

I guess im lucky, I have 100w driving lamps that come on with the high beams, and they passed inspection, maybe I will buy another set of bulbs for my next inspection, hahaha.
