HID Conversion

Hey everyone, well as the day went on I became slightly bored...time to shop for new toys!!! Well I think I have chosen the Hi/Lo 4500 Kit from Catz Lighting...may do the 5500, however, we will see. Is anyone else interested in these kits? Maybe we can do something for those who are...hmmmmm

I just wanted to say I've had good luck with my Catz Zetas. They aren't the same as HIDs, but they are similar. They amplify the amount of light produced by increasing voltage to the bulb. You can see a picture of them at night here .

I think Catz is a good brand and they make a decent product!

Catz HIDs are good. Catz Zetas are junk.

Mike:

If you go with the Catz, stay with the 4500k. The 5500k will be too blue and will not have as much usuable light. What price are you looking at paying? You can get a complete Philips 4100k Hi/Low kit for $499 from autolamps HID site. Here's a link:

http://www.hid-online.com/products/kit.asp?id=13

They are one of the top HID retro companies around.

HHHMMM I wonder if I am better off with the Catz or the Phillips...which ever one I chose I wanted to do a group buy on them. I was thinking the Catz as I have heard nothing but great things about them...I don't know, what does everyone else think?

The Catz(same as Bellof)are a great company. So is Philips. I think it comes down to personal preferance. I tend to lean toward Philips since they are always the leader in lighting technology and are OEM on most cars offering HIDs

Either kit would be a good choice. Just don't be fooled into anything with a higher Kelvin than the 4500.

To give you an idea. My HIDs light color and output looks identical to Lexus.

Keeps us posted as to what you decide to run. And stay away from K2 or any other Korean rebased bulb.

I'd say the lower K rating the better as well. I have the 5000K Bellofs and I'd want to go whiter if I could. I think 4500K would be a good choice.

I might even pick up a set of Catz cause I bet my Bellofs would sell for a pretty good price even now if I put them on eBay

I've been running the CATZ 4300K (Pure White) bulbs since November and I really like them, the high/low mechanism is slick. I actually bought the group buy HID's and decided not to install them because I liked the high/low mechanism on the CATZ better, anyone want the buy some group buy HIDs...? I wish I would of bought the CATZ 5100K (Bluish White) because I have JDM clear corners and the 194 LED's that I'm running would match the 5100K's better.
