hesitation at startup?

my rig has been behaving a little strangely the last few mornings. on cold starts, it seems like it's not getting fuel quickly enough ... it used to spring to life at the turn of the key, now it kind of cranks a little longer than usual, starts to turn, then dies. turn the key again and it starts right up. ?? and it never does this after it's been turned over in the morning; for the rest of the day it starts right up regardless of how long it's sat. this only happens first thing in the am.

of note: i have been running 93 octane for 2 tankfuls now as part of a cleaning regimen and am wondering if that's perhaps the culprit/part of the issue. also, i have recently done new plugs, wires, dist cap & rotor, fuel filter, battery, cleaned air filter, oil change, and have a new o2 sensor that is a few more PB Blaster soaks away from being installed (ah, nothing like new england's salty winter roads...)

any ideas, or consolation, would be appreciated.

probably a problem with the cold start system, either the injector is dirty/not working, or the time switch gave up

good point. :pat:

relatively easy part to switch out too, so maybe i should start there. seems like every time i turn around these days i'm throwing "just another $100 or so" into the beast.

thanks!

actually turned out to be the simplest thing: my battery connection was loose. tightened it up and it starts right up again so it apparently just wasn't getting enough juice.

dont run 93 octane..just because its higher octane doesnt mean it will increase your milage or clean your motor...

higher the octane the more difficult it is to burn sooo you wont be getting a complete burn and you will get more carbon build up.....ive been telling my dad this for years and im waiting for his Triumph TR6 to die from taking high octane gas for so long.
