Help with testing fuel pressure
Hey all, first time poster. I'm helping a friend with a 1999 4Runner, 3.4L 5VZFE engine. I rented the Autozone fuel pressure tester, I put the banjo bolt on the RH fuel rail, but the back of the timing cover does not allow enough room to connect the pressure gauge. LH rail has even less room. I've been scouring this site and others for guides, but I can't find anything. What am I doing wrong?
FWIW the car is running rough and has no power, and is throwing misfire and cat codes, and I'm trying to test the easy things one by one. Spark is good, compression is good enough, so I imagine he's either got fuel pressure issues or a plugged cat. Any help is greatly appreciated.
