I'm looking for the part number of the amsoil oil filter for 2nd gen 3.0 v6. I remember a thread from a while ago that gives the number on a bigger (2 qt?) filter that also fits the 3.0.
I'll be damned if I cant find that thread.

Go to www.amsoil.com and click on the applications guide. Punch in your make and year and model, and it'll list what you need. I don't have any more on my shelf to look at, and the wife is driving the thing right now...hehe.

 

I got that one. What I'm looking for is a bigger filter. There's an alternate part thats for some domestic passenger car I think. I think I'm getting the 57 or whatever anyway but I kinda want to know the bigger one. Or I could be totally crazy:alien:

 

You cannot install a bigger or longer amsoil oil filter in a 3.0 V6 engine without the oil filter relocation kit. If you are planning to install the bigger filter in there, it will be too tight because there is not much room between the oil filter and the body frame. I have already tried this and it did not work. The filter leak out due to rubbing cause by the filter against the frame. I went back to OEM filter (90915-YZZB9) because this is the only filter that I know will fit in there. I hope this helps. The amsoil filter that I previously used and leaked out was ASF-34, it was a little longer than the OEM filter.

If you buy Amsoil's remote filter system, you run HUGE filters that go down to something like 4 microns, that means you have clean oil for freakin' ever. I guess this appeals to fleet trucks who can only change oil every 25000 miles.

I've seen these remote filters at work. The guy dumped a few ounces of INDIA INK in the oil, and turned on the pump. Within a minute or so, the ink was filtered out totally, and the oil was see through again. Amazing! I think the kit is around $100.

This kit is for the oil snob as far as I can see, but it illustrates what Amsoil can do for ya.

I think my filter is a spf34, rings a bell anyway. Good luck!
