Sorry to hear that.

Has the headgasket campaign been done on your V6? If not, maybe you could get a new engine outta the deal!

Good luck,

I'm Sure You've Checked This

Awhile back my '89 V6 truck was in for service. Don't even remember why. However, while the guys were working on my truck, they found a hose that was cracked. Apparently, it wasn't very easy to see that it was cracked, but once it was replaced my truck sure as hell ran better. I can't even remember which hose it was (vacuum line?). Point is, it may be worthwhile to make good and damn sure that ALL engine hoses are in perfect condition. When I hear of a situation like yours, it makes me think there is something obvious that for whatever reason is being overlooked.
I also think that a good Toyota mechanic would figure this out in pretty short order. And, you will look long and hard before you find a better built truck (don't think you will). Please keep us posted, and good luck!

Yep. You'd be surprised at how crippling a bad or disconnected hose could be to your engine. Especially vacuum lines.

Good things to check and not too expensive to replace.
