Help me out with tire rub!!!

HI there new to the group. I have a stock 94 ext cab and bought new BF goodrich tires and wheels. 31 x 10.50 x 15. They rub in the driver side fender wall toward the cab when I turn. The passanger side clears what's up with that? How do I fix it? I thought 31" tires would fit on any toyota with stock lift. Is the answer a body lift? Maybe a 1"..

Let me know thanks

Did you get new wheels? What width and backspacing?

It's probably because of the backspacing, mine came stock from the factory with 31x10.50s and no rubbing. You can try cranking up the t-bars a little, or pounding the spot where they rub in with a BFH, or get some ball joint spacers, or get a lift kit, or a body lift. The t-bar adjustment may be a little lower on the drivers side. Get a tape measure and just measure the height from the ground to the bottom of the fender and compare to the other side. Here is a good link on adjusting the t-bars:
http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/torsion/index.htm
Here is the only source (that I know of) for ball joint spacers:
http://www.sdori.com/
Here is the best source for a body lift (that I know of):

Oh and welcome to the best Toyota forum I've found.

Thanks I will try to adjust my torsion bar

I only heard about the torsion bar this morning. I think that might be the problem what about the sag in the rear is there anything I can do about that?

Like some helper springs or anything else you can think about that would be cheap...

Thanks

Raising the vehicle up doesn't seem to be the answer here. If the tires are the same size all that was increased was a wider rim, it sounds like a width problem not height. I'm not sure if cranking the torsion bars will allow any help with the width-rub. Where's is rubbing? Is the wider rim w/ added backspacing causing your wheel to rub the control arm or the wheel well? It seems you have to find the place where it's rubbing and determine if it's width related first of all. I'm no expert on it but something to consider. Anyone else have any comments about this take? Hope you correct it, rubbing can be annoying.

I had the same problem when I first went to 33x12.50s and yes raising the body or whole suspension will do the job quite nicely. I have done all of my suggestions above at one time or another.

As far as raising the rear cheaply, add a leaf to the spring pack is a good way or air shocks will work good too (about $60). I have measured as much as 2 inches of lift in the rear of my truck with air shocks aired up to about 100 psi. The nice thing about the air shocks are they are adjustable for the amount of load you have. They take a little looking though to find the right size for your rig.
