First, I'm new to trucks and very ignorant when it comes to terminology on the board. I've read a ton on lifts and what I gather is that 2WD and 4WD 4runners have the same suspension. The only difference is that springs made for a 4WD have to compensate for the extra weight in the front.

Now, I would like a little lift and don't really understand all the OME stuff written here and elsewhere. I plan on getting Bilsteins for shocks and since I was doing this would like to replace the springs. My choices from what I've read are:

1. PP 1" lift springs (PP doesn't recommend it due to the front springs are made for a 4WD and would be very stiff. I hope that the Bilsteins would offset this some.) There is a couple of people that have this setup on the board but have not responded to e-mails.
2. Tundra coils up front and OME's in the back. I haven't read of others that have used this setup with Bilsteins. Will it work and how's the ride.
3. OME's all around (springs and shocks).

Any help would be appreciated...

What ever happened with your vibration?

 

had the driveshaft lengthened...shortened...balanced like 3 times...it's still there. it changed everytime the driveline shop changed it...but it NEVER went away. not really sure at this point what it could be...it is more evident on the driver side like right under my feet. I have checked for loose hardware but came up empty...not sure if the angle is my problem, but i have come up empty on how to change that. Thanks for checking though.

 

Not very high, 1-3 inches. No offroading, mainly for looks.

 

The Tundra/OME will give you between 2.75 and 3 inches.
