HELP! engine pings with new plugs

HELP! engine pings with new plugs
Alright here's the story. I changed plugs today from IK-16 to IK-20, and while I felt gained in power on the low end, I developed pings at freeway speed. I re- gapped the IK-20s to .044. What is going on here? I never had problems with pings before. I am running SC/cat back exhaust/headers with NO other mods.
