Exclamation Hello, needing help please

I don't know what I need to do to start a post

Hello everyone, I am in need of assistance. I have a 99 4runner limited When I try to start it, it just turns over. When I press the gas pedal & crank at the same time, it starts but when I release the pedal it just dies. I have an error code of P0120 Throttle Pedal Position sensor switch "A". I replace the TPS & nothing changes. It seems that as I start, the air flaps are closed with no air going in thus starving for air. Has anyone experienced this? Can it be the IAC? Also I see a something that looks like a vacuum switch in line with the throttle linkage. I believe its called a throttle switch. Maybe diaphragm is defected. Please help! Thx, Steve

Well, according to the FSM, see the attached PDF, there are several trouble-shooting steps you need to take.

Just follow the chart in the PDF. It'll take you right to the problem. Probably

Good luck! Let us know how it goes for you.

That's the info I have been looking for. My question is the Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch the same as the TPS or is there a second sensor that i'm not seeing. What service manual is the PDF from? I would like to order a copy.

An extreme thank you for your help. So far this is the best response I have had. As soon as I fix the problem, I will post the details.

Thanks again,
Steve
