85 22re. I have what sounds to be an exhaust leak, it has that ticking noise that speeds up with the rpms, but I assure you it isn't the valves. I have one of those paper header gaskets and I got it wet. Do these paper gaskets sometimes get messed up when they get wet? From the top of the paper, it looks water stained, as if it soaked it up. Yes, I know never buy these paper header gaskets but it came with a gasket set. Thanks in advance.

 

i dunno if i trust those paper gaskets on an exhaust manifold if it is the gasket downey or lcengineering should have gaskets for that engine, id also copper coat the mess out of it if you do find a new gasket,........... check the rest of your exhaust first before you rip out the header, it could be a small fix leak somewhere else

 

also if it got wet, its possible the emtal deformed a little bit... try tightening up the bolts...
